AVCS now includes ENCs produced by Dubai Municipality Survey Department (DMSD) which have the Producer Code "A2".
Dubai Municipality Survey Department (DMSD) was added to Part I of the IHO List of Data Producer Codes S-62 in December 2023 under the Member State United Arab Emirates.
As such, ENCs with A2 Code are fully official and will display as such where the ECDIS has been loaded with the current version of S-62.
ECDIS that have not installed the latest version of S-62 may surround A2 ENCs on their display with the symbol for "Non-Official ENC" - a hatching on the cell boundary. Users who see this behaviour on their ECDIS display should contact their OEM for an S-62 upgrade.
